Jarrod
(ROC) Walker
Born and raised in Hartford,
CT, Jarrod “ROC” Walker is no stranger to the music
grind. Since 1993, Walker has seemingly been in
training for the day to come when he would be heard
and loved by all.
Armed with a solid ability to write songs and a
vocal style straight off the pole pit, this raspy
crooner combines real life stressin’ and a soulful
swagger to deliver a hot 16 bars on a whim.
On
the track, “Loved by All”, Walker challenges other
MCs who call themselves “flowin” to “have a mind of
your own.” “All of a sudden there’s counterfeit
50’s, Kanye clothes and, now that he’s gone, niggas
pickin’ meat off Jay-Z’s bones.” PREACH! Or, what
about the track titles “Cold?” This is an R&B and
hip hop mesh where Jarrod is explaining to some
unlucky lady that due to her lies and drama, she is
just not the one for him. Or, classic R&B joints
like the baby mama drama anthem, “Stressin,” where
Jerrod grinds his pipes to let her know, “The
devil’s on his job now and he won’t stop till he
shut us down for good and take everything we’ve
got.”
Jarrod’s personal favorite song on this album is
“Love Will Never Change.” Jarrod explains that he is
reminded that real love never really changes. “Baby,
family is supposed to be the only thing this close
to me. Socially, these women be approaching me.
But, a gentleman I am, so I may take their hand and
let them know all of this love is for you.”
Overall, Jarrod offers a fresh spin on life and love
with his double talent of song and rhyme. We are
all anxious to see what is next to come from Jarrod.
